That definition has been generalized over many years to include Suppliers of materials, test equipment, monitoring instrumentation, and components. For lack of a better place to classify them, manufacturers representatives and sales Reps are also included in this group.

 

The vacuum industry is by nature very incestuous in that most suppliers in every category end up buying from the suppliers in every other category, and many even purchase product from their competitors.

 

Most major manufacturers of deposition systems – both PVD and CVD, etching systems, ion implantation systems, crystal-growing equipment, and all the related accessories are considered to be prime OEM prospects for suppliers of components and materials.
